What electricians usually pay for SEO

Electrician SEO quotes fall into five tiers. The ranges are typical US monthly prices from agencies and consultants, not quotes from any one company, and they assume your website already exists.

TierTypical monthly priceWho it fitsWhat it usually includes
Profile management only200 to 600 USDA one-van shop that wants the map listing kept currentPosts, photos, review replies, hours and services kept up to date
Starter local SEO750 to 1 500 USDA residential electrician in a smaller marketProfile work, citations, one or two pages a month, basic reporting
Full local SEO1 500 to 3 000 USDA contractor with several crews covering a metroJob and city pages, review program, local links, technical fixes, call tracking
Competitive metro or commercial3 000 to 6 000 USDLarge metros, or a firm that bids commercial workMore pages and links per month, project type pages, content for property and facility managers
Multi-location6 000 USD and upGroups and franchises with several branchesA profile and pages per branch, central reporting, migration and site structure work

A one-time setup or audit fee of a few hundred to a few thousand USD is common on top. AgencySEO charges none. If you want to see what an audit alone should cost, we broke that down in SEO audit cost.

How many jobs it takes to cover the retainer

The fastest way to judge an electrician SEO price is to turn it into jobs. Take the gross profit you keep on an average job of each type, then count how many of those jobs a month the retainer needs.

Job typeCommonly quoted to homeownersJobs that cover 1 500 USD a monthJobs that cover 3 500 USD a month
Service call or small repairA few hundred USDMany, usually not the job to plan aroundToo many to rely on
EV charger installationOften 800 to 2 500 USDAbout two to fourAbout three to nine
Panel upgradeOften 1 500 to 4 000 USDAbout one to twoAbout two to five
Standby generator installOften several thousand USDUsually oneAbout one to two
Commercial project or service contractBid per projectOften oneOften one

The job counts are rough and assume you keep about half of the ticket as gross profit. Put your own numbers in. The point holds for most contractors: a plan that ranks you for panel upgrades and generators breaks even on a handful of jobs, while a plan that only ranks you for "electrician near me" has to win a lot of small service calls to do the same.

This is also why the first pages we build on our SEO for electricians plans are for the jobs with the biggest ticket, not for the generic trade name.

What drives the price of electrician SEO

Two electricians can get quotes 3 000 USD apart for what sounds like the same work. These are the reasons, roughly in order of weight.

  • Metro competition. Ranking an electrician in Dallas, Atlanta or Phoenix takes more pages, links and reviews than ranking one in a town of 50 000 people, because the competitors there have years of head start.
  • Residential, commercial or both. Commercial pages need project photos, case notes and links from the trade, and the buyers read more before they call. That work costs more per page than a residential service page.
  • Number of towns and locations. Each town you want calls from needs its own page, and each physical branch needs its own profile and its own reviews.
  • How many services you sell. An electrician who also does generators, solar tie-ins, low voltage and smart home work needs more pages than one who sticks to service and panels.
  • The state of the website. A slow site with one Services page needs more fixes in the first months than a site that already has job pages and fast mobile load.
  • Your review gap. If the top three in the map pack have 400 reviews each and you have 30, the review program has to run for longer before the map pack moves.

Electrician SEO versus lead marketplaces and Local Services Ads

The fair comparison is not SEO against nothing. It is SEO against what you already pay to make the phone ring.

ChannelHow you payStrong pointWeak point
Monthly SEO retainerFixed monthly feeCalls keep coming after the work is done, cost per job falls over timeTakes months to start and needs an agency that reports jobs, not just rankings
Lead marketplacesPer lead, often sharedCalls within daysThe same lead often goes to several electricians, and leads stop when you stop paying
Local Services AdsPer lead from GoogleSits above the map pack with the Google Guaranteed badgeStill paid per lead, and your reviews and profile decide how often you show
Search adsPer clickFull control over which jobs and towns you bid onCost per click on emergency and upgrade searches can be high, and stops with the budget

Most contractors who do well online run two of these at once. Paid leads fill the schedule while SEO builds, and as organic calls grow the paid budget can shrink.

Questions to ask before you sign an electrician SEO quote

  • How many pages, links and fixes ship each month? A quote without numbers cannot be compared with another one.
  • Which jobs will you build pages for first? The answer should name your highest ticket jobs, not a list of blog topics.
  • Whose name is on the Business Profile, website and Search Console? Yours, from day one. Walk away if the agency keeps ownership.
  • Is there a minimum term or a setup fee? Six and twelve month terms are common, and they shift the risk to you.
  • How will I see calls from search? Call and form tracking should be set up in the first month and shown in every report.
  • Do you guarantee rankings? The right answer is no. A guarantee usually means an obscure search nobody types.

Commercial work brings one more cost that has nothing to do with SEO: general contractors often pay on 30 to 60 day terms. If chasing those invoices eats office time, automated invoice reminders by email and text are worth setting up alongside the marketing.

What AgencySEO costs for an electrical contractor

Our prices are published and the same for every trade. Every plan is month-to-month with no setup fee, and annual prepay saves 20 percent. The electrician SEO services page shows how the work runs for an electrical contractor, and the full limits are on the SEO pricing page.

PlanMonthlyEach month
Small1 500 USD2 new pages, 2 refreshes, 2 editorial links, up to 10 implemented fixes
Growth3 500 USD6 new pages, 4 refreshes, 6 links, up to 25 fixes, AI visibility tracking, quarterly competitor gap analysis
Scale7 500 USD14 new pages, 8 refreshes, 14 links, up to 50 fixes, a digital PR asset each quarter, one landing page test a month
Enterprise12 000 USD24 new pages, 12 refreshes, 24 links, up to 100 fixes, migration support and release reviews

Most residential electricians with one location start on Small. Contractors who cover a whole metro or bid commercial work usually start on Growth, because they need more job and project pages each month. If you also run a plumbing division, the same plans cover it, and the numbers for that trade are in plumber SEO cost.
